When Israel would gather on Mount Zion to worship in the Temple, they would travel up the ascending slope from all parts of Palestine. The sons of Korah wrote a song about their pilgrimage up to the Temple. They wanted to capture the anticipation, the longing, and the joy of the worshippers as they made their way. Some may have come from long distances. For some the trip may have been exceedingly difficult.
